ANXIETY/STRESS

Daily-self-portraiture is extremely therapeutic. From very early on I began using the daily-self-portrait ritual as a way to purge myself of any unwanted negative feelings, like anxiety and stress. At the same time I experimented with style to develop my skills as a draftsman with the highest importance being given to staying true to my feelings at any one specific moment. This type of emotional purging was one of the first ways in which I used the daily-self-portraits as a tool to better my life. Anxiety and stress are perhaps the most represented feelings that I have expressed. These therapeutic emotional purges make up approximately 10% of all of the daily-self-portraits. Using the daily-self-portraits as data I can quickly determine my biggest stressors in life which are my health, finances, travel, and my old apartment.
